The modern and traditional can coexist peacefully. This is a place to explore what it means to be a true Southern gentleman and what it's like to grow up in the South, never quite fitting into what is expected, as well as general issues affecting Southerns today. From GLBT rights to race relations to general Southern culture, all will be explored.

For general purposes, the South consists of the following states: Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. But in the spirit of the "New South" and my own personal experience with their cultures, I may at times include Eastern Arkansas, Northern/Panhandle/Inland Florida, Southern Kentucky, Southeastern Missouri, and Eastern Texas.

The fact that it’s 62ºF at 8pm…

…3 hours after the sun went down…in December…in the mountains…is only one of the many reason I love living in the South!!!
